Lentils are a standard ingredient in Indian cooking. They are rich in fiber and protein.

Toor Dal lentils have a mild taste with a nutty aroma. Without having to soak the lentils, you can make delicious traditional Indian dishes with the lentils, such as curries (including tarka), soups (such as rasam) or South Indian stews (including sambar).

You can also grind the lentils into a lentil flour for preparing dough to make pappadum, for example.
