Sakthi Garam Masala is a blend of ground spices commonly used in Indian cuisine to flavor both meat and vegetarian dishes.

The spices for garam masala are usually roasted to bring out more flavor and aroma and then ground. The word masala simply means 'spice' and garam means 'hot'.

Garam masala adds warmth, sweetness, floral notes and a touch of heat from the black pepper. It is intended to be a fragrant spice as well as flavorful. Garam masala generally not fiery hot.

Ingredients

Coriander, Chili, Cumin, Aniseed, Cloves, Cinnamon, Garlic, Star Anise, Cumin, Pepper, Nutmeg, Cardamom, Curry Leaf, Ginger, Turmeric, Salt, Refined Peanut Oil.

Explanation ingredients

Coriander: the leaves have a lemony flavour, while the seeds have a slightly sweet, aniseed flavour.
Cumin: gives a nutty and peppery taste to dishes. Can be used in, for example, curry or chili.
Clove: gives a herbaceous and spicy taste to dishes.
Cinnamon: Can be used with both spicy and sweet dishes due to the deliciously warm and sweet taste.
Star anise: dried fruit with an aniseed flavour.
Nutmeg: ideal with savory or sweet dishes.
Cardamom: herbaceous plant of the ginger family. It has a pungent smell and the taste is sweet with a hint of lemon, camphor and bergamot. The green variant provides spice and freshness. The black variant is suitable for more powerful dishes such as curries and stews.
Ginger: has an intense pungent taste. Can be used in, for example, desserts, bread or biscuits. In India it is widely used with fish.
Turmeric: spice extracted from the roots of turmeric plant. It provides flavor and color in curry dishes.
