Panankalkandu is extracted from the sap of the Palmera tree. Palm sugar helps in lowering cholesterol levels. It also helps to release stuck mucus in the lungs. Palm sugar can be used to treat a sore throat or to relieve overheating of the body.
The sweetener has a low glycemetic index and is rich in nutrients. It contains minerals, vitamins, calcium, iron and phytonutrients, including zinc and potassium.
