Characteristics
Kozhukattais are a traditional dish made during Ganesh Chaturthi. They are called Modhak in North India and kozhukattai in South India.
Kozhukattais are made by mixing the Kozhukattai rice flour with plenty of water and salt to make dough. Then this dough is formed into pitless shapes and filled with a mixture of coconut and jaggery.
These kozhukattais are steamed in an idly steamer and served hot as a savory side dish. The filling can also be made with chana dal and jaggery.
