With the Vada Mix, this is assured. The batter should be thick and fluffy. Only then do you get a crispy outside and a soft inside.

Ingredients

Black lentils, rice, vegetable fat, esterified vegetable fat, salt, black pepper, raising agent (E500 (ii)) – sodium carbonate and acidity regulator (E296) – malic acid.

Storage advice

Store in a cool and dry place. Shelf life up to 2 years after production date. After opening, transfer contents to an airtight container. Perishable after opening.

Preparation

Step 1: Take the entire contents of the Vada Mix and add an equal amount of water. Mix this into a soft batter and let it rest for about 8 to 10 minutes.
Step 2: Add 1 finely chopped onion, 2 green chillies, a small piece of ginger and some curry leaves to the batter. Flatten a small amount of batter in your palm and make a hole in the center. Deep fry the vada until they are nicely golden brown.
Step 3: Serve the warm vada with sambar and coconut chutney.
