Storage advice

Keep in a cool, dark and dry place. After opening, transfer the contents to an airtight container.

Use

  1. Soak 1 portion of white lentils and 1 portion of rice for four hours and then grind into a smooth paste.
  2. Add 3 portions of millet flour and salt and mix to a smooth batter.
  3. Let stand overnight to ferment.
  4. Heat a frying pan and grease it well.
  5. Pour a ladle of the batter onto the hot pan and spread it in a thin layer to form a pancake.
  6. Sprinkle with onions and green chillies to taste.
  7. Pour some oil around the edges to make it crispy.
  8. Carefully remove the pancake and serve it warm with coconut chutney, sambar or vegetable korma.

The same batter can also be used to make delicious steamed rice cakes or other pan-fried dishes.
